Conor McGregor could be stripped of the lightweight title
Dana White has hinted that Conor McGregor could be relieved of his lightweight title if he doesn't return to the UFC by March.
“As long as Conor is willing to fight by March, we can do Khabib (Nurmagomedov) versus Tony (Ferguson)," the UFC's president told Yahoo Sport's Kevin Iole.
"And then the winner fights Conor for the title.
"Or, Conor doesn’t want to fight and wants to sit out until next fall, then we’d have to make Khabib versus Tony for the title, not the interim, title."

According to White, McGregor is hoping to return end his hiatus from mixed martial arts in August.
“I don’t think Conor wants to fight until August,” the UFC chief said.
“If he waits until August or September, that’s around two years since the belt has been defended and that can’t happen.”
