UFC president Dana White has confirmed the promotion are indeed in talks with Floyd Mayweather Jr over a possible fight inside the Octagon.

On Tuesday night, UFC commentator Joe Rogan claimed that White informed him that Mayweather has expressed an interest in having a mixed martial arts bout.
"This is one thing I can tell you,” he said during the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast. “Dana told me that Floyd wants to make a deal in the UFC, legitimately.
"I texted him, I go 'is Floyd really talking about fighting in MMA?'
"He goes 'Yeah, he's f------ crazy, I told him he'd get killed but he's still talking about it.'"
Rogan’s revelation was put to White by ESPN’s Brett Okamoto on Tuesday night and he revealed that he has talked to Mayweather about a possible fight in MMA's premier promotion.
"We're talking to Floyd about doing a UFC deal. It's real,” White said.
“He was talking about [boxing] Conor McGregor. Was that real? Have you heard Floyd talk about many things that aren't real?

"He usually tips his hand when he's in the media and then that s--t ends up happening.
"We're interested in doing something with Floyd. Everything is a realistic possibility. Mayweather vs. McGregor f--king happened. Anything is possible."
White’s admission has led many to believe that a second fight between Mayweather and UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor could be in the offing.

Mayweather, 40, took on McGregor in a multi-million-pound boxing match in August, defeating the UFC’s poster boy via a tenth-round TKO.
The chances of the air doing battle in the cage in the near future are slim to none as McGregor has yet to defend his lightweight title, which he claimed in November 2016.
