CONOR MCGREGOR won’t be returning to the boxing world anytime soon, according to UFC president Dana White.

McGregor swapped the Octagon for the boxing ring in August to take on Floyd Mayweather Jr in a multi-million-pound bout, which was aptly dubbed ‘The Money Fight’.
The UFC’s lightweight champion suffered a tenth-round TKO loss in his professional boxing debut but impressed many with his display in the early rounds.
Ever since that night at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, McGregor has been linked with a return to the squared circle, much to the frustration of many mixed martial arts fans.
Last week, he suggested he’ll seek out another boxing match if the UFC brass don’t give him a pay rise, saying: “My focus is getting back into the right ring or Octagon.
“2017 was historic. I have transcended both the sport of MMA and boxing.
“At this stage of my career, as it has been for the majority of my UFC career, potential opponents must lobby for fights with me.

“We could see Conor McGregor anywhere. I run the fight game, the fashion game, the whiskey game, or whatever the next business endeavour might be.”
His comments sparked fears that he could extend his hiatus from the cage, which began after his UFC 205 victory over Eddie Alvarez.

They were further intensified when Manny Pacquiao claimed his representatives have reached out to the Irishman’s team to discuss a possible bout.
The notion of McGregor returning to the ring in the near future was dismissed earlier this morning by White, who tweeted: “He’s not Boxing [sic] anyone so calm down cry babies.”

His first fight back in the UFC is expected to be a lightweight title unification bout against interim 155lbs champion Tony Ferguson.
