Conor McGregor slammed by Manny Pacquiao’s coach as Barboza has a dig
CONOR MCGREGOR - Express Sport brings you the latest news on the UFC's lightweight champion.
Conor McGregor, UFC lightweight champion
Conor McGregor’s boxing skills have been slammed by Manny Pacquiao’s boxing coach Freddie Roach.
“Well Manny always told he doesn’t like that sport because it’s more like a street fight,” he told Fight Hub TV.
“But it’s a very winnable fight and there’s a lot of money in that fight. It’s kind of like ripping off the world, it wouldn’t be a fair fight. Unless Manny fought by their rules too, that would be a fair fight.
“But if you’re going to do boxing rules, the boxer is going to win 99-and-a-half percent of the time. And I don’t think it’s much of a fight. I’m not a big fan of his.
“He’s not that great a boxer, in my mind. And I think we all saw that.”
I see Tony Ferguson as the actual champion
Meanwhile, UFC lightweight title contender Edson Barboza has claimed McGregor isn’t the weight class’ undisputed champion.
“You can expect the best Edson Barboza that has ever stepped into the Octagon,” the Brazilian told Combate when discussing his upcoming UFC 219 fight with Edson Barboza.
“I’m training a lot. I know my time is now. I’m ready to be a UFC champion, you’ll see.
“I’m number three in the rankings and I see Tony Ferguson as the actual champion. I always make this very clear. It doesn’t matter whether or not Conor McGregor comes back.
“I don’t know if he is coming back or not and I don’t care. All I hope for is that whoever wins my fight with Khabib, becomes the next one to fight Ferguson for the belt.”
Conor McGregor: It was a good fight it was a bit of fun
And finally, McGregor's recent training partner Michael Conlan reckons the Irishman has gone a tad overboard with his recent antics.
"Listen, he’s enjoying the fruits of his labour, maybe a little bit too much,” Conlan told Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times.
Michael Conlan reckons Conor McGregor is enjoying himself a bit too much
“He’s going crazy at the minute, but he just needs to take himself back and get back to what he does best, and that’s fighting.”
