Anthony Pettis posts Instagram photo of nasty broken foot he suffered in Nate Diaz loss
ANTHONY PETTIS suffered his first defeat as a welterweight early on Sunday morning.
The former lightweight king ran into a brick wall in the form of Nate Diaz, whom he took on in the co-main event of UFC 241.
Pettis dropped a unanimous decision to his fellow fan favourite, who was returning from a near-three-year layoff.
'Showtime' had some success early doors, troubling Diaz with some of his patented kicks.
However, his kicking game went out the window in the first round after Diaz checked one of his right low kicks.
The Milwaukee native battled valiantly until the final horn but was unable to utilise a key weapon in his arsenal.
It later transpired that Pettis had broken his foot in the first stanza.
And he shared a photo of the nasty injury with his 1.2 million Instagram followers, which he claimed to have sustained by landing a head kick flush on Diaz's chin.
