UFC NEWS - Express Sport brings you the latest headlines from the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Conor McGregor mocks Jose Aldo
Conor McGregor has taken a dig at his old rival Jose Aldo following his UFC 237 defeat on Sunday morning.
Aldo dropped a unanimous decision to Alexander Volkanovski in Rio de Janeiro Brazil but was lauded by UFC commentator John Anik as one of the 'greatest featherweights of all time.'
McGregor, who KO'd Aldo in December 2015, didn't like Anik's comment and responded by tweeting: "‘There goes the consensus greatest featherweight in UFC history Joe, you numpty’ — me walking by the mirror in my Jon Anik voice.”
The former UFC featherweight and the lightweight king was slammed for his tweet, so much so he ended up deleting it.
Rose Namajunas hints at retirement
Rose Namajunas has hinted she will retire from mixed martial arts following her stunning UFC 237 loss to Jessica Andrade.
“I don’t know. We’ll see,” Namajunas said when asked about her future.
It’s just hard to keep having fun with this
“I’m not gonna make no decisions right now, I don’t know.
"It’s just hard to keep having fun with this.”
Alexander Volkanoski eyes Max Holloway
Australia's Alexander Volkanovski reckons his impressive victory over Aldo should see him rewarded with a crack at featherweight champion Max Holloway.
He said: “And now let’s get down to business. I’m next in line 100 per cent.
"I’m undefeated in the top three now, I should be ranked No. 1. Let’s set it up.
"I wouldn’t mind being on the same card in Australia.
"That would be a cracker of a card, let’s make it happen.”
