UFC 230: I'll be ready to smack Brock Lesnar upside the head this weekend - Daniel Cormier
DANIEL CORMIER has warned Brock Lesnar against any post-fight shenanigans this weekend.
UFC: Cormier warns Lesnar to stay OUT of the Octagon
Cormier will defend his heavyweight title against Derrick Lewis in the early hours of Sunday morning in the main event of UFC 230, which takes place in at Madison Square Garden.
Former UFC heavyweight king Lesnar is expected to be in attendance at MSG and could very well enter the Octagon as he did after Cormier's emphatic KO victory over Stipe Miocic earlier this year.
A melee nearly ensued after Lesnar pushed the UFC's second simultaneous two-weight world champion, though the pair were quickly separated by security.
Cormier has no problem with Lesnar entering the cage this weekend but has warned the WWE star not to put his hands on him.
"This time, I will advise him to stay out of the Octagon," 'DC' said. "Because last time he pushed me across the cage and I hate that visual.
"I hate that that's the visual that's going to be shown in the build-up to our fight.
"This time I will buckle my heels into the mat and I will be ready to push him or smack him upside his head."
The UFC's last pay-per-view event, which saw Cormier's team-mate Khabib Nurmagomedov successfully defend his lightweight title against Conor McGregor, was marred by a mass brawl at the end of the fight.
So one would assume it wouldn't be a wise move for Cormier to hit Lesnar 'upside the head'.
Cormier is well aware of the unsavoury fracas which took place at T-Mobile Arena, which he found himself in the centre of, but insists any action he takes against Lesnar won't result in a ruckus.
"No it's okay," Cormier said when asked if he thought it would be 'a good idea' to push Lesnar. "We're fighters, we fight."
