Mayweather vs Khabib latest: Nurmagomedov reveals KREMLIN TALKS over Russia fight plans
KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV says he has spoken to Russian authorities at the Kremlin about fighting Floyd Mayweather next year.
Khabib’s manager says Mayweather match would be ‘a real fight’
Nurmagomedov is keen to enter the ring with unbeaten veteran Mayweather after beating Conor McGregor at UFC 229.
Nurmagomedov is ready to chance his arm at boxing - just as McGregor did last year when he lost to Mayweather in Las Vegas.
Mayweather has already said he is open to a fight with the Dagestan native.
And Nurmagomedov has revealed talks with Russian officials over a fight at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium are underway.
We want the fight to take place in Moscow
In a post n Instagram, the 30-year-old said: “A meeting with the Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation took place today @umar_kremlev .
“We discussed the fight with Mayweather. We want the fight to take place in Moscow at the legendary Luzhniki arena.
“They are sure that we will gather 100 thousand spectators, and also set a world record for the sale of paid broadcasts.
“And, most importantly, my father will be in the corner; a visa to Moscow is not needed.
“And so a question for my fans: do you believe in me? Or do you also think that he will knock me out of boxing?”
Mayweather vs Khabib could well break box office records if the fight were scheduled for 2019.
The American fighter - who has won all 50 of his professional bouts - is open to the showdown but only in the boxing ring.
"He called me out. So, he gotta come to my world,” Mayweather said.

Luzhniki Stadium
The Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow has an 81,000 seated capacity and was used as the venue for the World Cup final this summer.
It cost an estimated £300m to rebuild for the 2018 World Cup, with the historic running track being ripped up.
The stadium was used in the 1980 Olympic Games, where over 100,000 spectators watched the athletics.
