Conor McGregor vs Khabib: UFC 229 main event official after pair make LW limit
CONOR MCGREGOR's grudge match with Khabib Nurmagomedov tomorrow will go ahead as scheduled.
McGregor is due to challenge the undefeated Nurmagomedov for the lightweight crown early on Sunday morning in the main event of UFC 229.
However, the bout wasn't official until both men hit the scales this evening.
There were fears that Nurmagomedov, who goes into the biggest UFC event of the year riding a 26-fight win streak, could fail to weigh-in as he's suffered difficulties cutting weight in the past.
However, the champion allayed those concerns by stepping on the scale first and weighing in at 155lbs.
McGregor followed a little over an hour later, tipping the scales at 154.5lbs.
McGregor has vowed to end Nurmagomedov's reign as lightweight champion in emphatic fashion, saying: "Devastating KO. He's too easy to hit. Too flat-footed and too predictable. I'm gonna knock him clean out.
"I'm gonna come out the gate fast. I don't give a f*** about anything – any wrestling, any technique, any anything.
"I'm coming for that man's head from the f****** bell. Trust me on that."
