UFC News - Khabib Nurmagomedov’s coach talks UFC 229 bout with Conor McGregor
Khabib Nurmagomedov’s head coach Javier Mendez has claimed ‘The Eagle’ is more motivated than ever ahead of his first title defence, in which he’ll take on Conor McGregor.
“He’s really motivated to fight Conor,” Mendez told Express Sport. “He wants to fight Conor. He wants to do it the good way rather than do it the other way that Conor wanted to do it.
“Getting paid is a lot better and a lot safer and nobody is in trouble.”
Nurmagomedov will get his hands on McGregor in the main event of UFC 229, which takes place at the T-Mobile Arena on October 6.

UFC men’s bantamweight titleholder TJ Dillashaw is targeting a champion versus champion bout against his flyweight counterpart Henry Cejudo.
“The Henry Cejudo thing entertains me so much because he’s a gold medalist,” Dillashaw said during an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast.
“He wants to claim himself as the greatest combat athlete ever. ‘I’m a UFC champion, I’m a gold medalist!’
“I’ll go out there and beat you in wrestling. MMA wrestling is completely different. I’m the better athlete.
“I can beat him anywhere, I know I can, watching him fight. That’s why I’m very excited about it. I think it’s the greatest thing for my name right now.”

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes believes a win over featherweight queen Cris Cyborg will make her the greatest female fighter of all time.
"For sure. That’s the reason why I made this decision to move up a division. I want fans to remember me like that," Nunes told MMA Fighting.
“Winning on December 29, I won’t ever leave fans’ heads, that’s for sure. Achieving that, being the only Brazilian woman to become a two-division champion.
“The only woman, the only Brazilian, will be a huge achievement.
“It’s a big fight, a fight that will make history, and I will come out victorious one more time.”
