Conor McGregor: Dana White KO's super-fight as shocking retirement prediction is made
CONOR MCGREGOR - Express Sport brings you the latest headlines on the former UFC lightweight champion.
Conor McGregor has super-fight ruled out
UFC president Dana White has once again dismissed the notion of Georges St-Pierre fighting the winner of Khabib Nurmagomedov versus Conor McGregor.
“I'm not interested in that fight,” White said during an appearance on The BBC MMA Show. “He knows that and I’ve told them that many times.
"He was the 170lbs champion, he moved to 185lbs to take on Michael Bisping and put in his (bout) agreement that he would absolutely defend the title at 185 and then just dumped the title. I’m not interested (in making that fight).
"Georges St-Pierre is looking for one-off fights where he can make a lot of money, which is smart and what he should do. But we’re not interested in that.”
If McGregor loses, in my opinion, he will retire. If McGregor loses this fight, he will retire
Conor McGregor to retire if he loses to Khabib Nurmagomedov
Mixed martial arts analyst Robin Black believes McGregor could call time on his career if he loses to Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.
“As much as there is so much for each one to gain, there is also a lot for each one to lose,” Black said of Nurmagomedov vs McGregor in a video interview with RT.
"If McGregor loses, in my opinion, he will retire. If McGregor loses this fight, he will retire."
He later added: "After this fight, the winner will be immortal. And the loser… if it’s McGregor, he will retire.
“If it’s Khabib, it will have a tremendously, tremendously negative effect on him for years to come.”
Conor McGregor - Dana White talks return
White has revealed he found out McGregor would return to the UFC at the start of the year.
“I knew since probably, I don’t know, the beginning of this year,” the UFC chief told The BBC MMA Show.
“I knew he that was interested in coming back, it was just a matter of when.”
