UFC News - Khabib Nurmagomedov reveals Conor McGregor fight strategy
UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has revealed he plans on defeating Conor McGregor at UFC 229 by devastating him with ground-and-pound.
“My plan is to make him flat, make him tired and make him give up!” Nurmagomedov said in an interview with the UFC’s media team.
McGregor’s showdown with Nurmagomedov will be his first mixed martial arts bouts since he claimed the UFC lightweight title in November 2016 with a second-round TKO victory over Eddie Alvarez.
That bout headlined UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden and saw ‘The Notorious’ become the promotion’s first simultaneous two-weight world champion.
My plan is to make him flat, make him tired and make him give up!
UFC News - Chris Weidman vs Luke Rockhold 2 finalised
A middleweight rematch between former champions Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold has been finalised for UFC 230.
The eagerly-anticipated showdown had been rumoured for weeks but hadn’t been officially announced.
However, both parties have now come to terms, with Weidman revealing on Twitter that he’s signed his bout agreement.
On Saturday night, ‘The All-American’ tweeted: “I’m all signed up.”
UFC News - Michael Bisping hits back at Colby Covington
Michael Bisping has hit back at Colby Covington, who took aim at the former UFC middleweight champion after making good on his promise to take the interim welterweight title to the White House and meeting Donald Trump.
“For one, you’re a big Trump supporter, good for you, well done,” Bisping said of Covington during the latest edition of his ‘Believe You Me’ podcast. “You went to the White House, well done.
“Let’s just be clear though, you didn’t go as the champion. Interim belt or not.
“You’re currently now nothing other than a regular UFC fighter and you only went because Dana White is close with Donald Trump. They’re friends, they’re buddies.
“I’ve got to think that was part of the reason why [the visit happened].
“It wasn’t a case of [Trump] sat and watched and went, ‘Oh my god, here’s this Colby douche bag face, that is doing these incredible things, we have to have him to the White House, we have to honor this great American.’ No, it wasn’t that.
“He went running and when Dana stripped him, Dana said ‘don’t worry about it, we’re going to strip you but just to soften the blow, I’ve got you a President meeting, you can pop in for 30 seconds but don’t touch anything.”
