Roger Federer credits three players for his unique style
ROGER FEDERER has credited three players for his beautiful style.
Federer has long entertained adoring crowds over the world with his exceptional footwork and easy-on-the-eye play.
His trademark has been his one-handed backhand and this has helped him to 20 Grand Slam titles.
The Swiss legend is bidding to win his ninth Wimbledon title next month at SW19.
The 36-year-old had his tennis idols growing up and he has now explained where he adopted his on-court style from.
“I think the style of my play comes from the players I used to admire,” he said.

“That’s maybe why I have a one-handed backhand because they had one.

“There were of course the Jim Couriers and Andre Agassis with two-handed backhands, but that inspired me to play the way I played.
“I used to probably chip it a lot more like Edberg and Sampras did.”
