Novak Djokovic does something BRILLIANT with French Open crowd... did you spot it?
NOVAK DJOKOVIC endeared himself to the French Open crowd with a brilliant touch during his win over Fernando Verdasco.
Djokovic, who is seeded 20th, beat the Spaniard 6-3 6-4 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals.
But as he stepped to the baseline to serve it out at 5-2 in the third, play was delayed due to a Mexican wave going round the court.
Not that the Serb was going to let it bother him. Instead, Djokovic joined in by throwing his hands up in the air.
The gesture was greeted with huge cheers from the crowd before he served out the game to progress.
It's the 12th time Djokovic has reached the quarter-finals at the French Open - an Open era record.
He will play Marco Cecchinato, who shocked David Goffin to progress, in the last eight on Tuesday.
Djokovic said: "Considering all the circumstances in the last 15 months it is quite an achievement to get to the quarters of a Slam.
"I always play well at a Slam and always build my form to peak at a Slam.
"Hopefully it will get even better. I don't want to stop here."
