Rafael Nadal claim made by Juan Martin del Potro about French Open semi-final clash
JUAN MARTIN DEL POTRO has revealed he’s unfazed about about the prospect of facing Rafael Nadal at the French Open.
Del Potro has been calmly going about his business and he booked his place in the last-16 at Roland Garros with a 7-5, 6-4, 6-1 victory over Spain’s Albert Ramos-Vinolas.
The Argentine reached the fourth round for the first time in six years.
The 2009 US Open champion is on a potential collision course with Nadal, who he could run into in the semi-finals.
While he accepts Nadal is the overwhelming favourite, he’s not concerned by how the world No 1 is swatting aside his opponents, with the Spaniard dispatching of Richard Gasquet - 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.
But I'm doing my own way, and I'm calm with that
“Well, to be honest, I'm not thinking in that match yet,” Del Potro said about the prospect of facing Nadal in the final four.
“And then we will see. Rafa obviously is the favourite to win.
“He's playing unbelievable tennis.
