Federer is chasing a 20th Grand Slam title and a sixth Australian Open crown.
Standing in his way of another final appearance is South Korea’s Hyeon Chung, who represents an unknown quantity for Federer as the pair have never clashed before.
Federer has been immaculate on court in Melbourne and he is yet to drop a set in the tournament.
And McEnroe can’t believe what he’s witnessing with Federer, insofar as his movement goes between shots.

“We have to appreciate every moment that we see him play,” McEnroe said on Eurosport.
“We look at Nadal who is the default, Novak comes up empty. He’s hurrying after serve.
“Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka weren’t here. Kyle Edmund didn’t have anything to lose.
