JOHN McENROE insists Alexander Zverev needs to get out of his Grand Slam rut if he wants to emulate Roger Federer.

Zverev suffered a third round exit in the Australian Open last weekend, as he was knocked out by Novak Djokovic’s conqueror Hyeon Chung.
The 20-year-old is yet to make his mark in the game’s majors, with his fourth round appearance at Wimbledon the furthest he has reached.
Despite being tipped as a future star, Zverev has a long way to go if he wants to be as big as Federer one day.
And McEnroe wonders whether the German will be like Federer if he reaches the summit of the sport or Chilean star Marcelo Rios who became No1 even though he never won a Grand Slam tournament.

“You’ve got plenty of time but you need to get out of this Grand Slam Jam.
