BETHANIE MATTEK-SANDS has got a helping hand from a baseball star as she recovers from her horror Wimbledon injury.
Bethanie Mattek-Sands suffered a horror injury at Wimbledon
The American, 32, seriously injured her knee during her second-round Wimbledon singles match last week.
Mattek-Sands suffered a dislocated right patella and she ruptured her patellar tendon in Thursday's fall.
The 32-year-old confirmed the injury will require surgery which will sideline her for some time.
She flew back into New York yesterday and has already had a visit from New York Mets star David Wright.

Mattek-Sands tweeted today: "Thanks David @WrightNY for stopping by and giving me some words of encouragement @Mets #NYC."
Mattek-Sands - one of the best female doubles players on the planet - this weekend vowed to return to tennis after her sickening injury.
"I was coming to the net and all I remember is hearing this pop in my leg. Everything is kinda slow after that," she said.
"I will get through this and I will get back out there."
