Wimbledon 2017: Johanna Konta sent message from Jo Durie after Wimbledon win
JOHANNA KONTA was sent a message from Jo Durie after she reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals.
Johanna Konta made it to the Wimbledon quarter-finals
Konta became the first British woman to reach the last eight since Durie in 1984 with a 7-6 4-6 6-4 win over Caroline Garcia in a high-quality Court One clash.
Durie beat a 15-year-old Steffi Graf in the fourth-round to make it through - before being dumped out the tournament.
Konta, though, has the chance to rewrite the history books tomorrow when she takes on Simona Halep.
Durie tweeted Konta today and wrote: "Well done @JoKonta91 fab match & welcome to the Last 8 Club."
World No.1 Angelique Kerber, who lost to Konta at Eastbourne, thinks she can go all the way.
The German, who fell to a three-set loss to Garbine Muguruza today, said: " I think she [Konta] has big chances because she played so good on grass courts.

"She had really close matches here already. I think that it doesn't matter who she is playing.
"If she's playing her best tennis, she has a chance to get to the final.
"She's playing here at home, so I think this is also a good feeling to have.
"We have to see how she will deal with this pressure, because it's also pressure."
