BETHANIE MATTEK-SANDS’ fitness trainer has encouraged tennis fans to send his charge messages of support after she suffered a brutal knee injury at Wimbledon.

Mattek-Sands was tied at one set all in her second-round match against Sorana Cirstea on Thursday when she slipped approaching the net.
The 32-year-old shrieked in pain and begged for help from her Romanian opponent, who jumped over the net but then recoiled in shock when she saw the American’s knee-cap askew.
Mattek-Sands was rushed to hospital for treatment and last night her fitness trainer Shaun T, famous for developing the “Insanity” training method, tweeted a message asking fans for help.
“Words can’t express how sad and distraught I am to see you hurt and in pain today,” he said.

Mattek-Sands has undergone further scans on her knee this morning as British medical staff attempt to assess the damage.
“We should know more within the next few hours,” a WTA statement read.
