Murray will come up against Stan Wawrinka, Kei Nishikori and Marin Cilic in the John McEnroe group.
While Novak Djokovic has what looks like an easier task as he takes on Milos Raonic, Gael Monfils and Dominic Thiem in the Ivan Lendl group as the world's top eight players come together.
The tournament gets under way on November 13-20.
Murray will be looking to maintain his place as the world no.1 having overtaken Djokovic this weekend.

He was given a walkover in the Paris Masters semi-final to take spot before beating John Isner in three sets to take the title.
He said: "Yesterday was a great day, today has just been a normal day at home with the family.
"Once I am out on the court, you do not think about your ranking. You are playing against the top eight players in world. I look forward to getting out there and playing at the O2.
"I will try and take a few days rest now, start hitting again on Thursday. I need a few days break. It will be one big push for all the guys, everyone has played a lot of tennis and hopefully everyone can play well."
