Play has been suspended at Queen's on day one of the British competition.

The opening day of Queen's has been hit by severe delays and play has been suspended after just one match was played. Olympic champion Qinwen Zheng had only contested eight points against her first-round opponent, Jaqueline Cristian, before the umpire came down from their chair and halted the tie due to rain.
Weather conditions in west London had hampred the competition on day one, with the start to play delayed by over two hours. Three matches were scheduled to open the tournament, with Karolina Pliskova also going up 1-0 against McCartney Kessler before being told to stop. British wildcard Harriet Dart played only one point.

Suspension update
Queen's have just announced that there will be no play until at least 5pm today due to the weather.
And just as that was read out on the tannoy, a collective groan could be heard across the Andy Murray Arena.

The three first-round ties at Queen's were brought to a halt soon after they got underway.
Qinwen Zheng played just eight points before her clash with Jaquelin Cristian was suspended at 1-0.
Karolina Pliskova and McCartney Kessler played the exact amount of points before being informed by the umpire that rain was ending play.
British star Harriet Dart only managed one point before being forced back inside.
