Taylor Fritz's girlfriend celebrates Alexander Zverev win after Wimbledon controversy
Taylor Fritz's partner Morgan Riddle once again posted on social media after the American beat Alexander Zverev.
Taylor Fritz’s girlfriend Morgan Riddle once again boasted on social media after the American defeated Alexander Zverev at the US Open.
Riddle sparked controversy earlier in the year after Fritz got the better of Zverev during a five-set classic at this summer’s Wimbledon.
The influencer posted a since-deleted video to her social media feed which read: “When your man wins 4 the girls.”
It was assumed to be a dig at Zverev, who had recently agreed to pay his former partner around £183,000 ($240,000) following a domestic abuse allegation.
Zverev was never convicted and the German maintains his innocence.
But Riddle kept the celebrations a little more low-key this time around, opting for a simple: “Semi finalssss,” accompanied by three painting nails emojis.
Away from the war of words, the victory marked a watershed moment in Frtiz’s career, with the 26-year-old having never progressed beyond the quarter-final of a Grand Slam before Tuesday’s triumph.
This year alone he reached two, having been knocked out in the last-eight stage at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon.

However, with the quarter-final trend bucked, Fritz insisted there’s still work to do, saying: “I've had a lot of looks at quarterfinals over the last couple of years, and today just felt different.
“It's cool I'm in the semis. But I very much have the mindset of ‘the job´s not done’.
“A question I got asked pretty much every time I lost in my quarterfinals was, ‘What´s it going to take to go further?’ And the answer I gave was always: ‘Just keep putting myself in these situations, and I´ll become more comfortable in these situations and get better’.
“That's definitely what happened now. The quarterfinals didn't feel like, I don´t know, this big thing to me like it has been, I guess, in the past.”

It’s over two decades since an American won the men’s singles title at the US Open, but a home-grown star will at least be guaranteed a spot in this year’s final.
That’s because Fritz’s semi-final opponent on Friday night is world No.20 and fellow American Frances Tiafoe.
On the opposite side of the draw at the US Open, Jack Draper goes up against Alex de Minaur in semi-final number three.
While world No.1 Jannik Sinner is aiming to make it three Grand Slam semi-final appearances from four this year when he takes on Daniil Medvedev.
