Katie Boulter and Harriet Dart to renew bitter rivalry

Katie Boulter is about to face Harriet Dart in an intriguing domestic dust-up on Court One.

The two players have been involved in some fiery clashes over the years and do not always see eye-to-eye.

Annabel Croft believes their rivalry will add more flavour to today's match, telling BBC Sport: "There is quite a little bit of needle between the two of them.

"I think there always is when you have fellow British players playing up against each other and of course there is a place in the third round at stake so I think it will be what we call a popcorn match.

"Get ready to watch that one because I think it will be really incredible and they bring different qualities to the court.

"Harriet will be absorbing the pace, beautiful groundstrokes into the corners and then you've got Katie Boulter with a big serve, big booming heavy groundstrokes.

"A little bit of a contrast but it is going to make for very, very good watching so I'm looking forward to that one."

Andy Murray opens up on mental health

Andy Murray has revealed that he is in a positive headspace despite being forced to withdraw from the singles tournament at Wimbledon.

"My mental health is actually pretty good at the moment," he told Metro.

"I am really focused on the next week so that’s taking up most of my headspace. It was obviously very hard when I found out I was going to have to have an operation, but there was really no alternative.

"I shifted pretty quickly into thinking about recovery. It helps that I’m at home at the moment too.

"Having my kids around definitely puts everything else into perspective."

Andy Murray tipped for early doubles exit

Calvin Betton, who trains British doubles players Henry Patten and Luke Johnson, believes Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu will be knocked out in the first round of the mixed doubles.

The British duo will go up against Marcelo Arevalo and Zhang Shuai in the opening round and Betton is not expecting a positive result.

Speaking to i, he said: "That’s going to be tough because Emma has barely played any doubles.

"Zhang has got great hands and Arevalo is a very good server and returner. When the male player is both of those in the mixed doubles, you’ve got a problem, but Andy is that too when fully fit.

"I don’t think they’ll win, to be honest. Arevalo is a warrior and won’t be fazed by the atmosphere on Centre Court."

Emma Raducanu blasted over election remark

Emma Raducanu has been criticised on social media after admitting that she did not know the general election was taking place today.

She was singled out by tennis journalist Ben Rothenberg, who suggested that her lack of political awareness would not be tolerated in the United States.

He wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "I don’t know the voting culture in the UK quite as well, but I do know that any American superstar athlete would get utterly dragggggged for an answer like this."

Who is the unknown Brit facing Novak Djokovic?

Jacob Fearnley will face the biggest test of his career when he goes up against Novak Djokovic on Centre Court.

The 22-year-old, who only graduated from university in May, booked his place in the second round with a convincing win over Alejandro Moro Canas.

He is making his Wimbledon debut this year but has previously beaten the likes of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

Those victories came during his teenage years before honing his skills at university in America, as opposed to going down the usual route to becoming a professional.

"I played Alcaraz when he was maybe 14, I was 17," said Fearnley.

"Sinner, yeah, I played him maybe when we were 15. Obviously the strides they've taken in their games has been a lot more than myself.

"Yeah, the way they're playing, it's unbelievable. I don't think I can really take anything from those victories."

The response on social media was unflinching, with @Matt31804524 posting: "This set has ended the career of David Goffin. Oh my God, the worst choke I have EVER SEEN."
