Katie Boulter had a message for her boyfriend after he missed her title defence at the Nottingham Open.

The tennis power couple both lifted trophies on Sunday - Boulter doing so in Nottingham and Alex De Minaur in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

And the Aussie could now be in the doghouse as the British No. 1 called out her partner for failing to fly over in time to witness her crowning moment.

It wasn’t the first time that Boulter and De Minaur inspired each other to lift trophies on the same weekend. Earlier this year, the Australian defended his crown in Acapulco then dashed to San Jose to watch Boulter win the biggest title of her career in San Jose.

This time around, De Minaur failed to rush in for Boulter’s final and he now has some grovelling to do. The new world No. 7 defeated Sebastian Korda 6-2 6-4 on the grass courts in the Netherlands to win his ninth career title.

Meanwhile, Boulter was on double duty in Nottingham. She returned in the morning to finish her semi-final match against Emma Raducanu after losing the first set in a close tiebreak on Saturday night.

The world No. 31 won the next two sets to come through 6-7(13) 6-3 6-4. She returned for the final a few hours later but De Minaur failed to show up and watch. There, Boulter came from a set down to beat former world No. 1 Karolina Pliskova 4-6 6-3 6-2, retaining the title she won 12 months ago.

In her victory speech, the 27-year-old singled out De Minaur for not turning up after his own win. “My boyfriend didn’t make the trip even though I thought he might after his win in ‘s-Hertogenbosch,” she laughed.

“We will have to be talking about that tonight and see if we’re still gonna be together. I hope he’s listening to this because we’ve got some talking to do.”

De Minaur did acknowledge his girlfriend’s title defence on social media. “How did that happen again @katiecboulter You are a joke!!! #doubletrouble,” he wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter) alongside mind-blown emojis.

Boulter replied: “Just let me have the limelight for once by myself geeez.”
