Roger Federer will be 'much more determined' to beat John Millman at Australian Open
John Millman famously defeated Roger Federer at the 2018 US Open and the two will meet again in the third round of the Australian Open.
Australian Open: Roger Federer 'not happy' claims pundit
John Millman believes Roger Federer could well be “much more determined” to beat him in their Australian Open third-round tie after the shock result of their showdown at the US Open 18 months ago. Federer set up a meeting with Millman in the next round after defeating Serbian Filip Krajinovic in straight sets.
It sets up the chance for redemption at a Grand Slam for Federer after he suffered a surprise defeat to Millman at the 2018 US Open.
Federer had looked on course for a straight forward win against the Australian on that occasion after taking the first set.
But Millman fought back to win the following three sets for the biggest victory of his career.
The two have faced off since then, with Federer enacting some revenge at the Halle Open last year.

However, Millman believes Federer will have some added motivation to get the job done on the Grand Slam stage.
“Look, I wouldn't know personally. But I feel as if Roger, one of his best qualities is the fact that he moves on pretty quickly,” he said.
“I think he did that. I think he moved on pretty quickly from that, and he put together a pretty good kind of 12 months after.
“I’m sure he'll be confident in himself. He's got every reason to be super, super confident in himself.

“He's won umpteen Grand Slams and all that.
“Look, I think he'll treat it as another match obviously.
“Probably even he'll be that much more determined to kind of nip me in the bud.”
The duo have a good relationship in the dressing room though, with Federer stating he often practices with the Australian.
And speaking after his win over Krajinovic, Federer joked about Millman’s famous win at Flushing Meadows before stating he expects a tough encounter in Melbourne.
“I almost passed out when I played him in New York it was so hot,” he said.
“He had no problem, he is from Queensland. He never came to check on me when I almost passed out actually.
"He is a super good guy and unbelievably tough opponent. There is not many guys fitter than him out there.”
