Novak Djokovic reacts to 900th ATP Tour win at the Australian Open
Novak Djokovic has joined the 900 club for wins on the ATP Tour.
Novak Djokovic made it 900 wins on the ATP Tour today at the Australian Open and insists he is trying to remain grateful and enjoy every moment. Djokovic is going in hunt of Grand Slam number 17.
And the world number two is favourite to get it this month in Melbourne at the Australian Open.
Djokovic dispatched Jan-Lennard Struff in four sets in a match that displayed his superiority on the hard court surface.
And when asked about his achievements following his 900th win, he said: “I’am obviously very proud of all the achievements but at the same time I try to remind myself of how grateful I have to be still playing at a very high level this sport that I truly love.
“I was a four years old when I grabbed the tennis racket for the first time, saw it on the TV in Serbia, where it does’t really have a tennis tradition.
“Everything seemed quite impossible at the time but here we are 20, 25 years later and i can’t take things for granted, I’m just trying to enjoy every moment.”
He also responded to the ATP Tour’s tweet regarding the record, saying: “Cherishing this moment. Thank you guys so much.”
Djokovic came through today’s match after a wobble in the third in the set, finally winning 7-6 6-2 2-6 6-1.
Djokovic, a seven-time winner in Australia, was pleased with his performance as he goes in search of a remarkable eighth title.

“I thought I started off well, break up in the first, he came back, was a close tiebreak,” he said.
“Second set I played really well, high percentage of first serves in, then he turned it around.
“He was not missing much and putting a lot of first serves in the third set, and credit to him for fighting he brings a lot strength in his shots on the court so congratulations for a great match today.”
