Roger Federer vs Novak Djokovic: How much prize money will Cincinnati Masters winner earn?
ROGER FEDERER takes on Novak Djokovic in the Cincinnati Masters final this evening, but how much prize money will the winner earn?
Federer and Djokovic will meet for the first time since January 2016 and they will both be vying for one final victory before they head to the US Open.
Both players have struggled with injuries over the last couple of years but have come through the other side stronger and are now looking for a perfect finish to the season.
Djokovic stripped Federer of his Wimbledon crown last month as the Swiss star was dumped out of the quarter-finals by Kevin Anderson.
But the world No 2 can bounce back at the first time of asking by winning his 99th ATP title.
Both players are guaranteed to take home $533,690 (£418,383) for reaching the last two in Ohio.
However, the winner will pocket the lion's share of the prize money, banking $1,088,450 (£853,284).
Following the final, the tour takes a one-week break before the US Open comes around.
And Federer is hoping to sign off win a win against his long-running rival.
“I’m very excited to be back in another final here in Cincinnati against Novak in particular,” the Swiss star told ATP World Tour.
“There’s a lot riding again on the match. It’s great to refresh our rivalry that we’ve had going on for so many years now.
“It’s so nice to see him back having won Wimbledon and now back in another final for him in Cincy.
“I think it’s going to be very exciting.”
