England injuries will make Australia clash toughest Test so far for Eddie Jones
MARO ITOJE and Billy Vunipola’s absences will make it that much tougher for England to beat Australia at Twickenham, according to Rob Andrew.
Maro Itoje and Billy Vunipola will both miss England v Australia
Eddie Jones has led England to 12 consecutive wins since he took over after the 2015 World Cup.
That run encompasses a Six Nations Grand Slam and a 3-0 series victory in Australia.
However, Itoje and Vunipola will both miss the rematch with the Wallabies at Twickenham on Saturday (2.30pm) - the former with a broken hand and the latter having just had knee surgery.
“One of the biggest mistakes a coach can make is to rely on player availability to win over creating the right structure,” Andrew added.
“In the modern game a player will be unavailable for a variety of reasons for around a third of the season.
“This makes it essential to have a number of good selection options to fit into that structure.”
