England star pulled from Six Nations squad with BLOOD CLOTS hours before Scotland clash
ENGLAND star Dan Robson has been pulled from the squad which faces Scotland this evening after suffering with blood clots.
Robson was named on the bench for the clash in which England could win the Six Nations title.
For that to happen, Eddie Jones' side would need to beat Scotland and hope Wales drop points against Ireland in the earlier tie.
However, the Red Rose will not be able to call on Robson from the bench, as his parent club Wasps confirmed in a statement.
"Dan Robson suffered blood clots which arose spontaneously earlier this week," the statement ready.
"He is being evaluated and treated by specialists at the moment.
"At this stage it is too early to give a return-to-play date."
Robson, who celebrated his 27th birthday earlier this week, has been replaced by Saracens half-back Ben Spencer.
The blood cots could also keep Robson out of the World Cup squad later this year.
Meanwhile, Jones will be keeping everything crossed in the hope Wales fail to beat Ireland.
And he thinks the Welsh can be stopped by the 2018 champions.
“Wales are a very good team," he said.
"They are very well coached and great credit to them for what they have done, but it’s a tough tournament and you can see they’re getting tired.
"They have made more tackles than anyone else in the tournament and they’re playing against an Ireland side that seems to be peaking at the right time.
“Guys like Conor Murray, Johnny Sexton, Garry Ringrose and Peter O’Mahony weren’t in great form at the start of the tournament but they look like they’ve got their mojo back.
"I’m sure the crowd will help Wales overcome that tiredness but it’s going to be a great game.”
