England star Tom Curry CLOTHESLINES Ireland's Keith Earls in brutal Six Nations incident
ENGLAND star Tom Curry was sent to the sin bin for a horror tackle on Ireland’s Keith Earls in their Six Nations showdown.
England took the lead at the Aviva Stadium, going 7-0 ahead through Jonny May’s try and Owen Farrell’s conversion.
However, Eddie Jones’ men were then hit with a sin bin following Curry’s high tackle on Earls.
Curry’s shoulder shot was late and referee Jerome Garces sent the England star to the sin bin.
Earls was shaken up after the incident and required medical attention.
Former Ireland winger claims Curry’s tackle was simply down to adrenaline in their high-stakes Six Nations showdown.
“That's adrenaline. Tom Curry is a 20-year-old guy,” he said.
“England are playing away from home against the most disciplined team.
“You cannot give away penalties.”
A lot was made of Curry’s tackle, with numerous England fans claiming it was never a yellow card.
One fan said: “Absolute joke of a yellow card for Tom Curry. This is rugby, not football.
“You expect to get clobbered. It was late, not dangerous, thus penalty. No need for sin bin.”
Another added: “Nothing wrong with that challenge by Tom Curry for me.
“Slightly late but not worth even a penalty. Was committed, certainly used arms and not high.”
“Never a yellow card in a million years,” said a fellow fan.
“Tom Curry had every right to go for Keith Earls there, who then milks it to get Curry a yellow.
“Nails him perfectly legally as well. Bang average.”
