Cycling: Mark Cavendish targets yellow jersey
MARK CAVENDISH has changed his training programme for the Tour de France in an effort to make history by wearing the leader’s yellow jersey for the first time.
This year’s race starts on the island of Corsica with a proper stage, rather than a prologue, and for the first time in 47 years it is flat, making Cavendish favourite to triumph if it comes down to a bunch sprint.
He said: “This is a chance for me and all the other sprinters. It’s going to be all guns blazing.”
