Phil Taylor has warned Luke Littler he could burn himself out if he keeps accepting other jobs away from the oche. Various reports understand the 17-year-old darts legend has managed to secure himself a job as an after dinner speaker.

The 2024 Premier League darts winner has reportedly joined the same talent agency that has helped the likes of Glenn Hoddle and Kevin Keegan appear at various events. Unlike the two former England managers, Littler is still competing in a gruelling schedule that sees him travel all over the world.

Littler admitted he is looking to scale down his gruelling darts rota by taking part in less events over the course of the calendar year. After news emerged of his after dinner speaking role, which could be worth as much as £10,000 per night according to the Sun, Taylor advised the youngster to not leave himself burnt out.

When asked if the role of becoming a celebrity can leave Littler feeling tired, Taylor, who was speaking on behalf of SpinBet, said: "It can. I mean professional boxers, golfers or footballers, you wouldn’t have a chance of them coming down to the studio if you’re playing in a major tournament the week afterwards.

"I was only two minutes away from Ricky Hatton’s house and he said, ‘I can’t come down, I’ve got a big fight next week’. I totally understood and he was one of my best mates.

"He needs to now keep his head on and keep doing what he’s doing. It's one of those things.

"I had to tell Michael Smith that you can say no to some things. Honestly, I can’t believe him. 100% he will win a world title and if he doesn’t then it will be the biggest shame in sport that’s for sure."

Littler pocketed around £315,000 for winning the Premier League, taking his total prize pot from the last five months to a whopping £648,000. He has also appeared on the Jonathan Ross Show, Children in Need and Sky's Fantasy Football League as a guest.

While the endorsements, television and social media appearances keep on rolling in, Littler admitted he can sometimes find the intense darts schedule to be draining. "After a day's play in the Premier League Darts, we often leave at three or four in the morning for a European Tour tournament," he recently explained in an interview.

"You have to show your best level that same evening, which is certainly not easy. I am therefore planning to cut my schedule a bit in the coming months and no longer play every tournament.

"I need that rest every now and then and now that the Premier League Darts is over, we can take stock and see where we stand."
