Casey Stoner escapes
CASEY STONER edged inside the lap record as he set the pace in opening practice ahead of tomorrow’s Spanish second round of World MotoGP at Jerez.
Then Ducati rider Stoner escaped unscathed after a tumble in the final minutes. The front end of his bike twitched out of line, tipping him off. Local favourite Jorge Lorenzo, riding a Yamaha, closed in on Stoner’s time of 1min 39.731secs with Nicky Hayden third fastest ahead of Honda’s Dani Pedrosa.
