Six of the UK’s most impressive sporting champions are up for the honour of being named Sports Personality of the Year tomorrow night. Who is nominated this year, and who is the bookies favourite to win?
Tomorrow’s Sports Personality of the Year ceremony will be a close competition with six of the UK’s favourite athletes up for the top prize.
The BBC has shortlisted Tom Daley, Tyson Fury, Adam Peaty, Emma Raducanu, Raheem Sterling and Dame Sarah Storey for the Sports Personality of the Year 2021.
Recent winners include Lewis Hamilton, Sir Mo Farah and Andy Murray.
The last female winner of the coveted award was Zara Phillips in 2006; this year’s favourite Emma Raducanu would have only been four years old!

How do I watch Sports Personality of the Year?
The awards ceremony will be broadcast on BBC One tomorrow, Sunday, December 19.
The programme starts at 6:45pm and finishes at 9pm.
Gary Lineker, Clare Balding, Alex Scott and Gabby Logan will be hosting the awards ceremony.
The biggest win of the night - Sports Personality of the Year - is usually the last award to be given, following other awards championing coaches, young people and other athletes.
Who’s most likely to win Sports Personality of the Year 2021?
Emma Raducanu, who made history when she won the US Open this summer aged just 18, is the current frontrunner, with odds of 1/20 according to betfair.
Tom Daley’s odds of winning are 12/1 following his Olympic Gold win in Tokyo, and a Bronze medal in the same competition making him the first British diver to win four medals.
Boxer Tyson Fury’s odds are at 20/1 currently.
Gold medallist swimmer Adam Peaty’s odds are currently at 66/1.
One of England’s top players in the Euros this summer, Raheem Sterling faces odds of 100/1 according to betfair.
Dame Sarah Storey is Britain’s most decorated paralympian with 28 Paralympian medals in swimming and cycling. Her odds are 150/1.
