The Warriors ended up victorious over the Kings, winning 127-123 with both teams setting an NBA record for most threes in a game with 41 combined.
Curry also finished with a game-high 42 points however, that wasn’t the biggest talking point of the night.
That came during the fourth quarter when Curry attempted a step-back three, only to be called for a travel.
The move was eerily similar to Harden’s trademark double step-back move which has often been criticised by players and pundits as travel.
NBA officials disagree and have repeatedly tried to explain why Harden’s move isn’t a travel.
But when Curry was called for travel when attempting to mimic the same move, he was clearly surprised.
When the officials blew their whistle, Curry gestured towards the front of his jersey, holding up the numbers worn by Harden for the Houston Rockets.
Steve Kerr was equally incensed by the call and the Warriors coach could be seen shouting down the officials on the sideline.
When asked about the call after the game and why he held up the number ’13’ on his chest, Curry did everything but name Harden.
“I’ve seen that once or twice,” Curry said.
“Tried it myself.
“Obviously they got confused.
“They knew it was someone else, so they called it.”
He added: “That was nothing pre-meditated. It was just step first, step back and it didn’t really work so I tried a little quick one, got called.”
The Warriors have a three-day rest before returning to action against the New York Knicks on Wednesday (3.30am GMT).
They are currently locked in a tight battle for the top spot in the Western Conference, with both the Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder only slightly ahead of them.
