NBA news: How Kevin Durant feud with Draymond Green sparked false Warriors trade rumours
KEVIN DURANT’s feud with Draymond Green is NOT the main catalyst behind the trade rumours at the Golden State Warriors.
That is the view of NBA pundit Nick Wright, who thinks a trade for Durant has been on the cards for a while.
Durant and Green were at loggerheads earlier in the season and that led to a public spat between the pair and Green being suspended for the first Warriors-Hawks game of the campaign.
So far, Durant has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Clippers and the New York Knicks.
And Wright is adamant that Green is not behind the trade rumours surrounding Durant.
“The discussion surrounding Kevin Durant leaving didn’t start with the feud with Draymond Green,” he said.
“That was something the Warriors were privately worried about last year.
“They thought he could have left after two years at Golden State.
“They thought it was definitely on the board that he could leave after three.

“That is what the entire league is waiting on.
“Two superstars is all the Lakers need and I don’t think they are going to [get] next year.
“If Durant leaves and Steph [Curry] and Klay [Thompson] are there, that is the situation where GS are still championship contenders.”
Meanwhile, Warriors snapped their six-game losing streak on Monday night with a 128-111 win over the Hawks.
Durant: Just a matter of time before Curry gets back to the flow
Curry top scored with 30 points in 29 minutes.
But Green sat out the game with a sprained toe.
Warriors are back in action on Thursday midnight UK time where they take on Cleveland Cavaliers (7pm Eastern Time).
