Patrick Mahomes reacts to Travis Kelce's engagement to Taylor Swift

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes turned to Instagram to respond to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift revealing their engagement, approximately two years after the pair made their relationship public.

Mahomes, who faced criticism from a Kansas City radio presenter who branded him 'fat and an embarrassment', reshared their joint announcement on his Instagram Story, adding three heart emojis alongside Swift's track "So High School."

The initial post from Taylor Swift, who assisted Kelce in achieving a Guinness World Record, carried the witty caption - "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."

The photograph, captured against a lush floral background, established the atmosphere for the romantic announcement.

Visual examination indicates the picture was shot at the Kansas City Botanical Garden, presumably at Powell Gardens in Kingsville, Missouri, a picturesque location renowned for its extensive botanical collections.

Mahomes's response was particularly noteworthy given the Chiefs quarterback has repeatedly voiced his support for Swift's impact on the squad and its atmosphere.

During the ESPN documentary series 'The Kingdom,' Mahomes disclosed his early reaction to Kelce's romance with Swift: "I was one of those like, 'I got to see it, you know? I got to see it until I believe it."

When Swift made her debut appearance at Arrowhead, Mahomes commented: "That's the first person I noticed. I didn't see anybody else... You definitely felt the buzz and you could see people in the stadium gravitating toward where she was at there."

Their engagement announcement is the latest twist in a love story that has played out under the public gaze. The tale began in July 2023 when Kelce attended Swift's 'Eras Tour' gig at Arrowhead Stadium and confessed he had attempted to give her a friendship bracelet bearing his phone number.
