Jalen Hurts' text message from billionaire Michael Jordan as Super Bowl winner reveals all
Jalen Hurts was instrumental in the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs, and the star QB received a text from Michael Jordan prior.

Michael Jordan and Derek Jeter were among the first to congratulate Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts after his team's NFC Championship triumph in January. The Eagles soared to victory over the Washington Commanders on January 26, with a resounding 55-23 scoreline, as Hurts delivered an impressive performance of 20 completions for 246 yards and one touchdown, securing their spot at Super Bowl LIX.
Hurts revealed to Erin Andrews during the FOX Super Bowl LIX pregame show that basketball legend Jordan and baseball icon Jeter were quick to send their accolades, saying: "You know who the first people to text me after the NFC championship game? The first two people that popped up? Michael Jordan and Derek Jeter.
"And those guys have been very influential on my approach. How to manage the different things that come with the responsibility that a player like myself may have and going to work and going out there and getting it." Andrews also shared on her Calm Down podcast with Charissa Thompson details about what Jeter specifically told Hurts: "He had said after the NFC Championship, he got two texts, one from MJ, one from Derek Jeter.
"And we had heard from Derek Jeter, which was a pretty cool moment for these two gals friend. Derek had just said, 'I told him, look, you're not done yet, you have one more left, go finish it'," reports the Mirror US.
And indeed, Hurts took that advice to heart, clinching the MVP award for his outstanding performance against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl last Sunday. Hurts delivered a stellar performance with 17 completions for 221 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Eagles to a 40-22 victory over the Chiefs at Caesars Superdome.
This marked only the second Super Bowl win in the franchise's history, following their 41-33 triumph over the New England Patriots in the 2017 postseason. Jordan, who played for the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards, is considered one of the greatest NBA players, boasting six championships, six NBA finals MVP honours, five regular season MVPs and 14 NBA All-Star awards.

He also won gold medals for Team USA at the Olympic Games in 1984 and 1992. Jeter, on the other hand, spent his entire 20-year career with the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball, earning 14 All-Star awards, five World Series titles, an MVP in one of them, and five Gold Gloves.
Hurts joined the Eagles in 2020 as the 53rd pick of the second round of the NFL draft, after spending two years at Alabama and a year with Oklahoma at collegiate level, where he accumulated numerous SEC awards before making his transition to the big leagues.
Despite his relatively short professional career, Hurts has already shattered several NFL records in the past four years, paving his way to Super Bowl glory. In 2023, he matched Buffalo Bills' star Josh Allen's record for the most rushing touchdowns in a season by a quarterback at 15. Additionally, he set a new record for the most rushing touchdowns in a postseason game by a QB, scoring three against the Commanders last month.
