Ascot is famous for its spectacular outfits and extravagant hats with punters making a special effort to dress up for Ladies Day today.
Here is a guide to the dress code for each enclosure of the racecourse to help you decide what you should wear to the races.
There is a strict dress code at Royal Ascot
Royal Enclosure dress code
Ladies should wear dresses or skirts that are no shorter than just above the knee.
Hats must be worn in the Royal Enclosure and straps on all dresses and tops must be wider than one inch.
Fascinators are not permitted while headpieces must have a solid base cover an area of the head measuring at least four inches.
Trouser suits and jumpsuits are welcome for the first time this year, but midriffs must be covered at all times.
Men are required to wear a black or grey morning dress with a waistcoat, tie, top hat and black shoes.
Top hats should not be customised with bands or ribbons.

A hat or fascinator must be worn at all times.
Strapless and sheer strap dress are not allowed in the enclosures, but full length trouser suits are permitted.
Gentlemen are required to wear a suit with a shirt and tie.

Windsor Enclosure
There is no formal dress code for the Windsor Enclosure but replica sports shirts are not permitted.
Racegoers should be aware that fancy dress, novelty and branded clothing are not allowed on site.

Ladies Day takes place on Thursday June 22. It is the most popular day at Royal Ascot and is the day of the Gold Cup race.
