They don’t come much more experienced than ITV presenter Ed Chamberlain who will be guiding TV audiences through the action once again this year.
Chamberlain has picked out Vision D’Honneur as his banker for the festival and is certain he will bring in a return for his backers.
The five-year-old trained by Gordon Elliot goes in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle which gets underway at 13:30 today.
He can be backed at a general 12-1 and odds as are as high as 14-1 with some bookmakers.
Chamberlain is also baking Tiger Roll to retain his Cross Country Chase trophy after Davy Russell rode him to victory in last year’s Grand National.
Tiger Roll is 5/4 with most bookies.
“The heart says Tiger Roll,” Chamberlain told the Racing Post when asked for his Cheltenham banker.
“The head says Vision D’Honneur each-way in the Supreme.“If he is anything like as good as Gordon Elliot thinks he is he should go close.
“He is a big horse with a giant stride and he did;t let himself down on the quick ground at the Dublin Racing Festival.
“My theory is we’ll see a totally different horse this time.”
Chamberlain also thinks Paul Townend is good value in the top jockey market and says it is difficult to look past Elliot as the top trainer as he looks to win it for a third festival in a row.
“Paul Townend is value at 12-1 to be top jockey,” he said.
“My trainer choice would be more obvious because Gordon Elliot’s battalion looks immense in both the championship races and handicaps.”
