Horse racing tips February 22: Catterick, Chelmsford, Exeter, Lingfield and Warwick
ANNIE MC (3.45, nap) has been given a 10lb hike after an 18-length rout at Chepstow last month over an extended two miles three furlongs, but that shouldn't stop the five-year-old from scoring again.
That was a vast improvement on the former point-to-pointer's previous three runs under rules this term and was also step up on class.
Having won off a strong gallop last time, Jonjo O'Neill has dropped the mare back to two miles two furlongs at Exeter, which should be ideal, as will the good to soft ground.
CLEARANCE (8.15, n.b) has won two on the bounce on the all-weather at Wolverhampton and last week at Kempton for which the gelding has yet to be penalised. The five-year-old won with plenty in hand that day and can successfully complete a hat-trick for Gary Moore in the last race at Chelmsford.
CONFRONTATIONAL (3.00, treble) has outstanding claims to score a first win in his debut start for his new handler Jennie Candlish at Lingfield. Winner of three of his last five starts – all at Dundalk – for John Joseph Murphy, the five-year-old will be ideally suited to the seven furlong trip.
