Horse racing tips February 4: Who to back at Chelmsford, Taunton and Wolverhampton
WITH Ryan Moore taking the ride, OH THIS IS US (5.50n, nap) will be a tough nut to crack at Wolverhampton tonight.
Moore partnered the six-year-old twice last year when beaten in Group events, today he takes a considerable drop in class which will enable this consistent performer to get his head in front.
Hathal, the obvious danger, was not disgraced when third behind Marianafoot in a listed event at Deauville in December.
He built on that performance by winning over today’s course and distance last month.
Impressive Lingfield winner DIPLOMATE SIVOLA (4.15, nb) can give his enthusiastic owner and rider David Maxwell further success at Taunton.
He is paying a hefty price for that success as the handicapper has put him up 13lb but that should not stop him in this modest affair.
Reigate trainer Peter Crate is capitalising on Skip To My Lou’s (4.00) lenient mark before the handicapper hits the filly hard after her success at Lingfield five days ago.
Admittedly, she has a 6lb penalty for that success but it will not be enough to stop her.
