Horse racing tips December 31: Horses you MUST back at Lingfield, Uttoxeter and Warwick
BREATHLESS TIMES (nap, 1.50) can leave his rivals gasping for air at Lingfield this afternoon.
He got home by the minimum margin over seven furlongs here last time and although today’s extra furlong is unknown territory for the three-year-old, he certainly wasn’t stopping when scoring last month.
Tough Remedy has been running well and might be the one for the forecast.
There are two decent bets at Warwick.
CAPTAIN CARGO (nb, 2.35) has been placed on both his starts over hurdles and looks attractively handicapped in this three-and-a-quarter mile test, having run well over trip and track last time.
He travelled well that day, but couldn’t cope with the more experienced winner, De Name Evades Me, on only his second run under Rules.
Also at the Midlands track, 35 minutes earlier, GOODNIGHT CHARLIE (treble, 2.00) can score for owner-trainer Caroline Fryer.
The eight-year-old mare has not been seen since a disappointing run at Uttoxeter more than 200 days ago, but had scored well over course and distance back in May when slamming Roll The Dough by 20 lengths.
Bridget Andrews was on board for that success and, refreshed after that disappointing Uttoxeter, run Goodnight Charlie could prove too good for his rivals.
