YOUNG Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick catapulted his name back into the top 25 with a stunning eagle on the 15th at the 2018 Masters today.

The 23-year-old started the day five over but played superbly well on a rain-hit third day at Augusta, fighting back to level par for the championship.
Fitzpatrick shot four birdies in eight holes before a magnificent stroke on the 15th teed him up to sink an eagle.
It marked a dramatic turnaround in fortunes for the Sheffield-born youngster, who barely made it through to today’s play after a poor showing on Friday.

He scraped past the cut by a single shot but has catapulted himself into the top 25 today – and golf fans are loving it.
“Matt Fitzpatrick putting himself in perfect position for a patented Luke Donald make the cut on the number then backdoor a top 10 at a major,” read one tweet.
“Crafty vet stuff.”
Another said: “Matt Fitzpatrick is on fire! Second group off and has a birdie putt at 16 to go -1 for the tournament.”

Elsewhere on the course, Tiger Woods rescued a shocking start after scoring back-to-back bogeys in his opening two holes to go level par for the day.
And Australian Jason Day moved up to T-14th, shooting three under today to go -1 for the tournament.
