US Open 2017 tee times round two: Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson in same group
THE US OPEN 2017 will cut its field down after play on Friday, making the second round one of the tensest of the week for those flirting with elimination.
Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson will form a familiar group alongside Martin Kaymer
All players in the top 60 or tied with a player in the top 60 will make it through to the weekend.
This makes it the second smallest weekend field of the four majors - only the Masters at Augusta, where 50th and ties progress through, has a smaller field while the Open allows 70 players through, as does the US PGA Championship.
Rickie Fowler wlll start Day Two as leader as he attempts to bag his first major - he'll tee off alongside Hideki Matsuyama and Jon Rahm at 7.36pm UK time.
So when do the other big names go off on Friday, all hoping to be thinking about the leader as opposed to the cut line?
