Rory McIlroy has added a further £65million to his already extraordinary fortune, according to the 2026 Sunday Times Rich List. The golfing icon has seen his net worth soar from £260m to a staggering £325m, placing him seventh on the list of the wealthiest sportspeople in the UK. The Northern Irish superstar has enjoyed a remarkable run of form over the past year and a half.

McIlroy, 37, ended his long wait for a Masters title in April 2025, completing a career grand slam by finally securing all four of golf's coveted majors. He also played a pivotal role in Europe's Ryder Cup victory last September at Bethpage Black, New York, in challenging conditions. This April, he successfully retained his Masters crown, bringing his major tally to six and becoming only the fourth player in history to win the tournament in consecutive years.

Official PGA figures show that McIlroy is one of just two players with lifetime earnings surpassing £74.2m, second only to Tiger Woods. His total career earnings stand at just under £86m.

The Masters 2026 prize fund was £16.7m, up from £15.6m in 2025. McIlroy's recent surge in wealth will undoubtedly have been bolstered by the £3.3m he collected for his triumph at Augusta National last month.

He is believed to have accumulated £21.4m in on-course earnings between April 2025 and April 2026, according to Bunkered — £3.5m of which came from his victory at the Players Championship in March of last year.

The Northern Irishman also benefits from a string of lucrative sponsorship arrangements, bolstering his earnings from tournament victories. These include, amongst others, endorsement deals with Nike and Omega, which are reported to net him approximately £39m annually.

McIlroy's fortune shows no signs of slowing. The 2025 Sunday Times Rich List placed him as the 19th-wealthiest person under 40 in the UK, with an estimated net worth of £260m.

That marked an increase of £35m from 2024, when the golf star was valued at £225m. In just under two years, the Holywood-born star has added a staggering £100m to his overall wealth.

McIlroy also boasts an enviable property portfolio, headlined by a £16.2m luxury estate in Jupiter, Florida, where he lives with his wife, Erica Stoll, and their five-year-old daughter, Poppy. His holdings also comprise a £10.6m estate in California, a New York City apartment, and properties in both the UAE and Northern Ireland.

The two-time Masters champion is competing at the PGA Championship this weekend at Aronimink Golf Club, situated just outside Philadelphia. While the prize fund for the second major of 2026 is yet to be confirmed, McIlroy stands to pocket a further £2.5m should he claim victory — the same sum collected by last year's winner, Scottie Scheffler.
