Brian Davis eyes big break
BRIAN DAVIS, the PGA Tour’s resident Englishman abroad, believes his breakthrough victory is just around the corner after another second place at the Crowne Plaza Invitational.
The Londoner, who lost a play-off to Jim Furyk for the Heritage Classic in April after calling a two-stroke penalty on
himself, led at the halfway point of the fi nal round at Colonial only to be blitzed by former Masters champion Zach Johnson.
“If I keep knocking on the door, I am going to get one soon,” said Brian Davis, who lost by three strokes.
“I had a chance here but I just couldn’t get over the hump.
“Zach played great golf. He won the tournament – I didn’t lose it.”
