John Daly has revealed that he has been left at a ‘total loss’ as storms continue to sweep across the United States’ southeast coastline.

Hurricane Helene has caused havoc over the past few days and the storm is showing no signs of slowing, with 140-mile-an-hour winds recently heading in-land to cause disruption in Florida and Georgia, among other states.

Locals have received severe warnings about the weather, with the extreme conditions proving incredibly unsafe.

At 11pm on Thursday evening, local time, the storm hit the Big Bend area of Florida’s Gulf Coast, where two-time major champion Daly lives with his family.

Ahead of Hurricane Helene’s arrival, Daly shared an image on Instagram of the storm radar where he highlighted where his house is in comparison to the eye of the storm. He wrote: “Prayers for all those in the path of the Big Bend!

“God Bless and Everyone Please Be Safe during Hurricane Helene! #thisismyhome.”

In the early hours of Friday morning, Daly then provided an update on the destruction that the weather had caused to his home. He wrote on Facebook: “For everyone that has reached out, my family are all safe but all our homes are not!

“As water is pouring out of every crevice! Total loss and devastation after living here all my life! I still cannot imagine ALL we have lost but we are SAFE and all can be replaced! Praise God!”

After causing carnage in Florida, Hurricane Helene is expected to move slightly further north of the United States, with Georgia being warned that they could feel its wrath throughout Friday and heading into the early hours of the weekend.

Locals in Florida will be hoping that they have now seen the last of the storm, with Governor Ron DeSantis saying: “When Floridians wake up tomorrow morning, we’re going to be waking up to a state where, very likely, there’s been additional loss of life. And certainly, there’s going to be loss of property.

“You’re going to have people that are going to lose their homes because of this storm. So please keep those folks in mind, keep them in your prayers.”
