Ryder Cup: Finau takes the first shot of the tournament
The Ryder Cup is underway with fourballs matches at Le Golf National as Europe and the USA go head-to-head.
USA are bidding to retain their title but haven’t won away from home in 25 years, dating back to The Belfry in 1993.
The Americans begin the event as favourites at Evens, with Europe at odds of 13/10 and the draw at 11/1.

Ryder Cup foursomes - How does it work?
Unlike fourballs, each two-man team plays one ball per hole.
Players then take turns hitting until the hole is complete, in other words - alternate shots.
The alternating resets on each tee, with one player designated to tee-off on odd-numbered holes, while the other begins the even-numbered holes.
Just like fourballs, the team with the lowest score on each hole wins, and a tie means the hole is halved.
